The following list outlines the priority ranking system. Stanford Rental Homes is currently only renting to Housing-1 (H1) thru Housing-5 (H5) priorities.

- Academic Postdoctoral Scholars paid and employed by Stanford University

- Stanford Health Care Graduate Medical Education (SHC GME) Medical Residents
- Stanford Health Care Employees and Fellows

- Visiting Academics (7) (includes Fellow, Researcher, Scholar, as well as visitors to the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences - CASBS)

- All other households who do not meet the above criteria.
* Qualifying Employment: must be employed at least 30 hours per week (75% FTE) at or above the minimum wage during the entire lease term. Must be fully paid and employed with Stanford University or Stanford Health Care. Lease term cannot exceed duration of Qualifying Employment. Currently your eligibility priority must fall within categories H1 thru H5.
The Affiliate also must occupy and maintain the Premises as his or her own principal place of residence. At any time during Resident(s)’ tenancy, Resident(s) shall provide Landlord with satisfactory evidence that the Affiliate occupies the Premises as his or her own principal place of residence. Failure of the Affiliate to use the Premises and have them listed as his or her own principal place of residence as verified in the HR and Payroll database shall be a material breach of the Lease by Resident(s) and grounds for termination of the tenancy by Landlord for cause.

Lease Term and Maximum Program Benefit
Stanford Rental Homes provides transitional housing for qualified faculty and senior-level staff at discounted rates.
Leases are offered for periods of one year or shorter, and are generally renewable, subject to a recertification process, up to a maximum program benefit of five years. Lease terms with a start date between October to March are 6 to 12 months. Lease terms with a start date between April to September are 9 to 12 months. Applicants may request a month-to-month lease with a monthly premium of $200. The shortest month-to-month lease is 30 days.
